High-Performance Biodegradable Polyester
Ready for ScaleRethinking Clean Textiles — Next-gen Fiber & Filament Solutions
* "Zero Persistence Microplastic" refers to zero persistent microplastic remaining in the marine environment after biodegradation, as tested under ASTM D6691.
We don't ask brands to choose between performance and responsibility. Every THK fiber is benchmarked against conventional PET — across moisture management, durability, softness, and end-of-life impact.
Most synthetic fibers that claim "biodegradability" rely on additives or compostable coatings that only work under controlled industrial conditions — not in the environments where microplastics actually end up. THK is different.
Every wash cycle releases microfibers into wastewater. Conventional synthetic textiles shed microplastics that accumulate in oceans for centuries — entering the food chain and eventually re-entering human diets. Marine biodegradability is the only test that reflects how microfibers actually behave in the real world.
To qualify as truly non-persistent, a fiber must satisfy three simultaneous criteria — not just one. THK meets all three:
The EU's Circular Economy Action Plan and the 2018 Plastics Strategy are moving toward mandatory restrictions on microplastic-releasing synthetics by 2030. Biodegradable polymers that meet verified degradability standards are expected to qualify for exemptions under future EU regulations. THK fibers are positioned to be compliant ahead of these requirements.
Our fibers were benchmarked against conventional PET using industry-standard tests at the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI), Intertek Shanghai, and the University of Applied Sciences Reutlingen. Here's what we found.

Commercial quantities. Engineered to your application. All specifications are available for sampling, pilot runs, and commercial orders.
THK fibers are processed on standard polyester spinning and weaving equipment. No new supplier qualification processes beyond the fiber itself. No process engineering investment. No extended development timeline.
Chat With UsTHK Greenery Technology (森彥本草永續科技) was founded on a single conviction: that the textile industry's dependence on conventional synthetic fibers is a problem that must be solved at the material level — not managed through offsetting or post-processing.
We develop biodegradable, high-performance polyester yarns and fibers that integrate directly into existing manufacturing infrastructure — making the transition to responsible, future-proof materials a commercial decision, not a compromise.
Headquartered in Taiwan, we work with brands, mills, and product developers across global supply chains.
